2025: A Year of Measurable Impact at FlyTech

As we close the chapter on an incredible year, it’s time to reflect on the moments that made 2025 unforgettable. At FlyTech Pilot Academy, this wasn’t just a year of flight—it was a year of measurable impact. From the first propeller turn in January to our final landings in December, our community pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in flight training.
Milestones That Defined Our Year
We kicked off 2025 with a major celebration: our first certified pilot of the year earned their wings on January 2nd. The momentum didn’t stop there. By mid-summer, we officially welcomed our Cessna 172 Skyhawk to the fleet on July 12th, followed quickly by the 1,000-hour achievement on N900FT just six days later.
By the Numbers: Excellence in the Air
Our training snapshot shows a year of relentless dedication from both our students and instructors:
- Total Training Hours: 1,243 hours flown in 2025.
- Safety & Success: We maintained a staggering 97% first-time pass rate.
- Credentials: 11 new credentials were earned by our pilots.
- Missions: We completed 713 total flights, including 68 discovery flights for those taking their very first step into the cockpit.
Our student body is as diverse as the Missouri sky, with 50% Private Pilot students, 28.6% Instrument students, and 21.4% Sport Pilot students.
A Regional Presence
Our aircraft were busy connecting the Midwest. In 2025, FlyTech aircraft flew a total of 136,730 miles. While our home remains Rosecrans Memorial Airport (KSTJ), our pilots were frequent visitors at airports like KMKC, KTOP, and KPWA, stretching our footprint from Omaha to Oklahoma City.
Building the Future of Aviation
Impact isn’t just measured in flight hours; it’s measured in the next generation. In 2025, FlyTech proudly supported Young Eagles flights and Scouts activities with several on-site events, fostering a passion for aviation in the local youth community.
Whether it was through the 61.4 hours logged in our Redbird MCX Simulator or the efficient 3.7 GPH fuel burn of our Sling NGT, we remained committed to providing technically advanced training that is both effective and accessible.
As we look ahead, we remain inspired by the momentum of 2025. We are ready to embrace the opportunities of the new year and continue setting the standard for aviation excellence in St. Joseph.
